About
Transonic is a developer of open source audio software in Richmond, Virginia.
Why the name Transonic
?
In late 1995 I went camping for a weekend with the guys in Echolyn (pictures of this camping trip can be seen
on the inside of their When the Sweet Turns Sour
CD) and Geoff Logsdon from Roots of Consciousness was there.
He gave me a copy of the CD reissue of Assault on Merryland
by the 70's band Surprise that he was putting
out on his new label Zarathustra, which I listened to on the drive back home to Richmond. When I heard the line
Transonic, we ride cross the sky
from the title track, I knew at that moment that I had the name for this software company.
